Tennis Sees 15 Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. (August 12, 2020) – The Franklin Pierce University men’s and women’s tennis teams have combined to have 15 student-athletes earn Scholar-Athlete accolades from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, as announced earlier this summer by the ITA. In addition, both the men and women earned All-Academic distinctions at the team level as well.
Women’s Tennis Falls at Babson in Spring Opener, 6-3

WALPOLE, Mass. (February 28, 2020) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s tennis team returned to the court for the first time since winter break on Friday afternoon. The Ravens were competitive up and down the scoresheet, but ultimately dropped a 6-3, non-conference decision on the road at Babson.
Women’s Tennis Sees Four Collect All-NE10 Honors

MANSFIELD, Mass. (October 23, 2019) – In the midst of the most successful season in program history, the Franklin Pierce University women’s tennis team had four players collect a host of postseason honors from the Northeast-10 Conference on Wednesday afternoon. Freshmen Liria Loria (La Paz, Bolivia) and Laura Alvarez Tello (Vigo, Spain) were named to the All-NE10 Second Team, as was the doubles pairing of Loria and graduate student Himani Mor (Sonipat, India). Meanwhile, freshman Jazmin Flood (Laredo, Texas) landed on the All-NE10 Third Team, as did the doubles pairing of Alvarez Tello and Flood. Alvarez Tello, Flood and Loria were also all selected to the NE10 All-Rookie Team.
Women’s Tennis Drops Tight Match at Le Moyne, 4-3, in NE10 Championship

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (October 23, 2019) – In the first-ever postseason appearance in program history, the fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce University women’s tennis team came within one point of pulling off an upset on Wednesday afternoon in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship. On the road at fourth-seeded Le Moyne, the Ravens were edged, 4-3, at Skytop Tennis Courts, on the campus of Syracuse University.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 22, 2019) – For the first time in program history, the Franklin Pierce University women’s tennis team is postseason bound. The fifth-seeded Ravens will open play in the Northeast-10 Championship on Wednesday, Oct. 23, when they travel to fourth-seeded Le Moyne for a first round contest at 1 p.m. in Syracuse, N.Y. The match will be held at Skytop Tennis Courts on the campus of Syracuse University.
Women’s Tennis Earns First-Ever Postseason Berth with 4-3 Win over Assumption

RINDGE, N.H. (October 19, 2019) – For the first time in program history, the Franklin Pierce University women’s tennis team is postseason-bound. The Ravens used a 4-3 victory at home over Assumption on Saturday afternoon, in the final match of the regular season to chalk up the team’s first-ever bid to the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, which will begin with the first round on Wednesday. Franklin Pierce will be the fifth seed and travel to take on fourth-seeded Le Moyne at 1 p.m. on the campus of Syracuse University.

The Ravens need only one win from their final two NE10 matches to procure the first-ever postseason berth in team history.

RINDGE, N.H. (September 26, 2019) – The weather forced the match inside on Thursday afternoon, but the Franklin Pierce University women’s tennis team was unfazed by the change. The Ravens took all nine matches contested on the day to post a 7-0, shutout victory over visiting Plymouth State in non-conference play.
