Vilmont, Charette, Holmes Earn Academic All-Conference Honors

RINDGE, N.H. (April 9, 2015) -- Three Franklin Pierce University basketball players have been named to the winter 2014-15 Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference Team for their respective sports, as announced last week by the Conference office. Women's Basketball junior Kara Charette (Fairhaven, Mass.), men's basketball senior Ryen Vilmont (Philadelphia, Pa.) and men's track & field sophomore Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.) were all honored. The three student-athletes were among 66 student-athletes across seven sports honored by the Northeast-10.

(February 24, 2015) – Junior Tyler Iacuone (Mahopac, N.Y.) helped send his senior teammates home with a win on Wednesday night, as his last-second three-pointer lifted the Franklin Pierce University Men’s Basketball team over the Bentley University Falcons by a final score of 85-84. Senior Ryen Vilmont (Philadelphia, Pa.) finishes his career with a 25 point performance, leading all scorers in the game.
Tough shooting drops Men’s Basketball at Merrimack 68-65

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (February 21, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce Men’s Basketball team had a tough go of it on Saturday afternoon, and as a team shot a total 39.7 percent from the floor, including going 8-31 from behind the three-point arc (25.8%). That led to bad news as the Ravens took their second loss in as many games as they were defeated by the Merrimack College Warriors by a final score of 68-65. In a bright spot for the Ravens, senior Ryen Vilmont (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded a double-double in his second consecutive game with 15 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
Men’s Basketball downed in OT in heartbreaking loss to Stonehill

RINDGE, N.H. (February 18, 2015) – Carter Smith hit a jumper with four seconds to play in overtime to help lead the Stonehill College Skyhawks to victory over the Franklin Pierce University Ravens by a final score of 65-63 on Wednesday night. Senior Ryen Vilmont (Philadelphia, Pa.) notched a double-double by scoring a team-high 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the process.
Becklens’ 30 point day leads Men’s Basketball in upset in over Saint Anselm 84-72

RINDGE, N.H. (February 14, 2015) – Senior Paul Becklens (Boston, Mass.) sank a new career-high 30 points on Saturday afternoon, including going a perfect 13-13 from the free throw line. That, along with a 13 point day from junior Tyler Iacuone (Mahopac, N.Y.) led the Franklin Pierce University Men’s Basketball team in an upset win over the Saint Anselm College Hawks by a score of 84-72.

(February 12, 2015) – After watching the lead change ten times, and the score tying up seven times, including after regulation, the Franklin Pierce Men’s Basketball team was unable to convert a golden opportunity to drop a current top team in the Northeast-10 Conference on Thursday night. The Ravens were defeated by the American International College Yellow Jackets in overtime by a final score of 76-70.

(February 7, 2015) – Senior Ryen Vilmont (Philadelphia, Pa.) took control of the Ravens offense with a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds on Saturday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University Ravens (took down) (were defeated by) the Assumption College Greyhounds by a final score of 67-64. The win snaps the Ravens two game losing skid.
