Franklin Pierce has Two Selected to NE10 Hall of Fame

MANSFIELD, Mass. (June 28, 2021) -- A pair of Franklin Pierce University alumni have been selected for induction into the Northeast-10 Conference Hall of Fame, as announced on Monday afternoon by the league office. Baseball alum Mike Adams ’09 and women’s soccer alum Gabriela Demoner ’10 will become the eighth and ninth Franklin Pierce honorees in the NE10 Hall of Fame.

RINDGE, N.H. (June 23, 2021) -- Senior catcher Dylan Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-America Second Team, as announced earlier this spring by the NCBWA.

Four Baseball Players Collect All-East Region Honors

RINDGE, N.H. (June 8, 2021) -- Four members of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team have picked up All-East Region accolades from both the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA), as announced earlier this spring. Senior catcher Dylan Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) led the way, as he was named to the All-East First Team by both organizations.

Baseball Finished by No. 14/22 SNHU at NCAA East Regional, 14-6

RINDGE, N.H. (May 28, 2021) -- Top-seeded and No. 14/22 nationally ranked Southern New Hampshire left the defense on the bus on Friday afternoon, but it did not matter, as the Penmen made sure to bring all their bats. SNHU made four errors, but junior Dakota Mulcay went 2-for-4 with a gargantuan home run and drove in four to pace a 13-hit attack, as the Penmen put together a 14-6 romp to eliminate the fourth seed and host Franklin Pierce University baseball team, on the second day of the NCAA Championship East Regional.

Pitching Falters, Baseball Falls to Molloy in East Regional Opener, 13-5

RIDNGE, N.H. (May 27, 2021) -- Graduate student left-hander Shawn Babineau (Ashland, Mass.) was dinged for four runs on six hits, including a three-run homer, over just 3.1 innings, and things didn’t get any better from there on Thursday afternoon for the fourth-seeded and host Franklin Pierce University baseball team at Pappas Field. Freshman Garrett Scavelli and sophomore David Franchi had four hits apiece and drove in 11 runs between them to lead third-seeded Molloy to a 13-5 rout of the Ravens on the first day of the NCAA Championship East Regional.

RINDGE, N.H. (May 25, 2021) -- Senior catcher Dylan Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and sophomore shortstop Ian Battipaglia (Cheshire, Conn.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team have each earned their first career All-East Region honor, as announced last week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Jones landed on the NCBWA’s All-East Region First Team, while Battipaglia took Second Team accolades. In addition, senior first baseman Jonel Ozuna (New York, N.Y.) was an All-East Region Honorable Mention selection.

Baseball Named as Fourth Seed and Host of NCAA Championship East Regional

INDIANAPOLIS (May 23, 2021) -- The Road to Cary will once again run through Rindge, New Hampshire. The Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been named as the fourth seed and host of the NCAA Championship East Regional, as announced Sunday night by the NCAA. The Ravens picked up an at-large bid to the six-team, double-elimination tournament, which will run Thursday, May 27 through Sunday, May 30 at Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field. Franklin Pierce will open pursuit of its eighth regional crown at 3 p.m. Thursday against third-seeded Molloy.

Baseball Falls to No. 20/23 SNHU, 13-6, in Decisive Game of NE10 Northeast Division Final

MANCHESTER, N.H. (May 16, 2021) -- It was a day the pitching staff of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team would rather forget on Monday afternoon at Penmen Field. The Ravens needed eight pitchers and 178 pitches, including only 108 strikes, to get through the decisive game of the three-game Northeast Division final round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship. No. 20/23 nationally ranked SNHU got an early grand slam from graduate student Marcus Chavez and 6.1 effective innings from its bullpen on the way to a 13-6 victory. Graduate student James Boria (Massapequa, N.Y.) hit a grand slam in defeat for the Ravens.

Ozuna Belts Four Homers as Baseball Splits Pair at No. 20/23 SNHU to Open NE10 NE Division Final

MANCHESTER, N.H. (May 16, 2021) -- Senior Jonel Ozuna (New York, N.Y.) had a day on Sunday. The first baseman clubbed four home runs and drove in eight runs over the course of a doubleheader at Penmen Field. The Franklin Pierce University baseball team could capitalize with only win though, as the Ravens split a doubleheader on the road at No. 20/23 nationally ranked Southern New Hampshire, to open the best-of-three Northeast Division final of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship. Franklin Pierce drilled four home runs on the way to a 9-7 win in the opener, and SNHU scored single runs in the ninth and 10th innings to post a 4-3 victory in the second game.

Dingers Send Baseball Past Bentley, 10-4, in Northeast Division Semifinal

RINDGE, N.H. (May 13, 2021) -- Bentley was able to plate three in the top of the first inning on Thursday afternoon at Pappas Field, but the Franklin Pierce University baseball team was having none of it. The Ravens responded with four home runs to score eight runs over the first four innings in the Northeast Division semifinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship. Franklin Pierce, the division’s second seed, put it in cruise control from there and rolled to a 10-4 victory over the third-seeded Falcons.

MANSFIELD, Mass. (May 12, 2021) -- For the first time since 2015, the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has collected multiple major end-of-season awards from the Northeast-10 Conference. Senior catcher Dylan Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) has been selected as the Northeast Division Player of the Year, while sophomore shortstop Ian Battipaglia (Cheshire, Conn.) picked up divisional Rookie of the Year honors. In addition, the Ravens put eight players on the leagues All-Conference teams and two on the All-Rookie Team, as nine individuals earned recognition from the conference office.

Baseball Cruises to 18-1 Victory over Saint Michael’s to open NE10 Championship

RINDGE, N.H. (May 11, 2021) -- The Franklin Pierce University baseball team took care of things with relative ease on Tuesday night in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship. The Ravens hammered out 17 hits, including a trio of home runs, and coasted to an 18-1 victory over visiting Saint Michael’s at Pappas Field. Graduate student James Boria (Massapequa, N.Y.) went 4-for-6 with a double and a pair of home runs as Franklin Pierce opened defense of its 2019 NE10 title.

(May 8, 2021) -- The Franklin Pierce University baseball team wrapped up the regular season in style on Saturday afternoon, as the Ravens went on the road and swept a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader from Saint Anselm at Gill Stadium. Senior Dylan Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) rapped out five hits in the twinbill, and the Ravens scored runs up and down the lineup to pick up wins of 9-2 and 7-1.

Baseball Gets Offense Going in Doubleheader Sweep of Saint Michael’s, 14-6 and 21-1

RINDGE, N.H. (May 6, 2021) -- For the second time in nine days, Saint Michael’s traveled to Franklin Pierce University for a baseball doubleheader. For the second time in nine days, the Ravens scored a somewhere in the neighborhood of three dozen runs before the Purple Knights headed back home. Just over a week after scoring 45 runs in a doubleheader against Saint Michael’s, Franklin Pierce plated 35 more at Pappas Field on Thursday afternoon, to cruise to a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader sweep, 14-6 and 21-1.
