WEST HAVEN, CONN. (9/6/24) – The Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team dropped a conference match to the Chargers of University of New Haven, falling 7-0 on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Ravens would compete in the top two doubles spots, as Aynara Ferraz and Victoria Azcona Would fall by a score of 6-3, while Zoe Asterio-Correa and Gabriela Yamate dropped a 6-4 contest in the second spot.
  • Aynara Ferraz went the distance in the opening set of the first singles match against UNH's Valentinna Ferrarini though would eventually fall 6-4, 6-0. 
  • Zoe Asterio-Correa would also compete in the singles two position, falling 7-5, 6-0.
  • In the five singles position, Gabriela Yamate competed against Laura Ortner, falling 7-5, 6-2.

NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens open their 2024-25 home campaign on Tuesday, September 10th when they take on the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire. The match is set for 3:00 PM.
