Gabriela Demoner ’10 Competing with Brazil at Women’s World Cup

RINDGE, N.H. (June 10, 2015) – A 2010 alum of Franklin Pierce University and the women’s soccer program, Gabriela Demoner has moved on to showcase her skills on the international level since leaving Franklin Pierce. This month, Demoner is in Canada for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, as a member of Brazil’s national team.
Four Ravens Earn Spots on Fall Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference Teams

RINDGE, N.H. (February 5, 2015) – Four Franklin Pierce University student-athletes have been named to the fall 2014 Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference Team in their respective sports, as announced Thursday by the Conference office. Volleyball saw senior outside hitter Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) and sophomore middle Aiden Garcia (Eagle Pass, Texas) selected, while senior back Gabriela Vieira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and junior midfielder Kaycee Pereira (Ludlow, Mass.) were honored from the women’s soccer team. The selected Ravens were among 88 student-athletes across seven sports honored by the Northeast-10.
Vieira Named to ECAC All-Star First Team

(December 19, 2014) – Senior back Gabriela Vieira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II All-Star First Team, as announced late Thursday by the Conference office. Vieira is one of nine Northeast-10 Conference student-athletes to land on either the First or Second Team.
Women’s Soccer Edged at Assumption, 2-1, in Northeast-10 Semifinal

WORCESTER, Mass. (November 7, 2014) – Freshman goalkeeper Casey Cook (Beverly, Mass.) made seven saves on Friday night, but it would not be enough, as the fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team was clipped, 2-1, by top-seeded Assumption in the semifinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship at Multi-Sport Stadium. Junior midfielder Paige Radomski scored both goals in the victory for Assumption.
Women’s Soccer Has Three Earn All-Northeast-10 Honors

(November 4, 2014) – Senior back Gabriela Vieira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) has earned All-Northeast-10 Conference First Team honors for the second straight season and leads three All-Conference selections for the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team, as announced Tuesday by the Conference office. Vieira is the lone Raven on the First Team, while sophomore midfielder Madison Finlay (Plymouth, Mass.) and senior forward Talita Pereira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) earned selection to the All-Northeast-10 Second Team. Freshman goalkeeper Casey Cook (Beverly, Mass.) landed on the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team.

(November 4, 2014) – Junior midfielder Kaycee Pereira (Ludlow, Mass.) put away the game-winning goal in the 104th minute on Tuesday afternoon to lift the fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team to a 2-1, double-overtime win over fourth-seeded Southern Connecticut State in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship at Jess Dow Field. Freshman forward Victoria Buonanni tallied the lone goal in defeat for SCSU.

(November 1, 2014) – Freshman forward Nalina Valaydon (Longueuil, Quebec) scored in the 12th and 51st minutes on Saturday afternoon, to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team in a 3-1 victory on the road against American International in Northeast-10 Conference play at Abdow Field. Junior back Ophelie Brevet scored the lone goal for AIC in defeat.
Offense Goes Silent as Women’s Soccer Falls at SNHU, 1-0

MANCHESTER, N.H. (October 29, 2014) – The offense of the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team was held without a shot on goal on Wednesday night in a 1-0 loss at Southern New Hampshire in Northeast-10 Conference play at Larkin Field. In fact, the only on-target shot of the game came from SNHU freshman midfielder Alena Woodarek, who scored the night’s only goal in the 33rd minute.

(October 18, 2014) – Senior back Gabriela Vieira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) got her head to a 64th-minute corner kick and put away her first goal of the season on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon, to help the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team to a 3-0 win over Le Moyne in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field. Junior goalkeeper Katie Weldon (Manchester, N.H.) stopped all three shots on her net to pick up the shutout.

(October 15, 2014) – Junior midfielder Kaycee Pereira (Ludlow, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Madison Finlay (Plymouth, Mass.) scored 5:04 apart in the second half, and then the latter set up the former’s game-winner in the 81st minute on Wednesday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team erased a 2-0 halftime deficit to pull out a 3-2 win on the road at Saint Anselm in Northeast-10 Conference play at Grappone Stadium. Junior midfielder Rachel Gillies scored twice in the first half for Saint Anselm.

Under siege for parts of the afternoon, senior goalkeeper Aubrey Ouellet finished with seven saves in defeat for Saint Michael’s.

(October 4, 2014) – Senior forward Talita Pereira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) scored the game’s only two goals, in the 42nd and 72nd minutes on Saturday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team notched a 2-0 win over No. 9 nationally ranked Adelphi in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field. Senior goalkeeper Sam Whitney finished with four saves in defeat for Adelphi.
