RINDGE, N.H. (July 13, 2011) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s basketball team was honored by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Wednesday as the Ravens earned a No. 11 national ranking in the WBCA Division II Academic Top-25 Poll. Franklin Pierce, which was the only school in the Northeast-10 Conference to appear in the rankings, earned a team GPA of 3.524 during the past academic year.

She also received honorable-mention status from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and State Farm. White was the only player from the Northeast-10 Conference to earn All-America accolades from both organizations.

(March 11, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's basketball team's bid for a fourth-straight NCAA East Regional Championship came to a heart-breaking end on Friday afternoon as Brittany Shields hit a foul-line jumper with just :02 remaining to lift Pace to a 64-62 win over the Ravens in the first round of the 2011 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament at the Dana Center in Waltham, Mass. The third-seeded Ravens concluded their 2010-11 season with a 24-8 record, while the sixth-seeded Setters improved to 23-8 and advanced to Sunday's second round versus either Holy Family or Goldey-Beacom.

The Ravens, who are coming off an appearance in this weekend's Northeast-10 Conference final, will be making their fourth-straight appearance in the national tournament. The Ravens earned the No. 3 seed in this year's East Regional and will take on the sixth-seed and NE-10 rival Pace University Setters in the first round on Friday.

The second-seeded Ravens improved to 24-6, while third-seeded Assumption dipped to 21-7.

(February 27, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's basketball team will begin defense of its Northeast-10 Conference championship on Tuesday night when the Ravens play host to Saint Michael's in the 2011 quarterfinals at 7 p.m. in The Fieldhouse in Rindge. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $7 for adults, $4 for children and seniors, and $1 for college students. Franklin Pierce students who present a valid college ID at the door will have the cost of their ticket paid for, courtesy of the athletics department.

By earning those top yearly awards, both players were named to the All-NE-10 First-Team for the first time in their careers.

The Ravens won their second-straight game to improve to 21-6 overall and 17-4 in the Northeast-10, while the Falcons dipped to 21-4 and 18-3 in league play.

In two games last week, Giroud nearly averaged a triple-double as she posted averages of 12.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game.
