Marielle Giroud Named to NE-10 Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll
Giroud nearly averaged a triple-double in two games last week
RINDGE, N.H. (February 14, 2011) -- Franklin Pierce
University junior forward Marielle Giroud (Martigny,
Switzerland) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference
Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday for her two
impressive performances last week.
In two games last week, Giroud nearly averaged a triple-double as
she posted averages of 12.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 9.5 assists
per game. In last Tuesday's 80-71 win at Saint Michael's, Giroud
tossed in 17 points and handed out a career-high 11 assists. She
also grabbed six rebounds while swiping five steals in the process.
In Saturday's contest against Saint Anselm, Giroud ripped down a
team-best 14 boards, while also scoring eight points and dishing
out eight helpers.
For the season, Giroud is averaging 13.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and
3.4 assists per game. She ranks 14th in the NE-10 in scoring, fifth
in rebounding, 13th in field goal percentage (.484), 10th in
assists and fifth in steals (2.20).
Giroud and the Ravens return to action Wednesday night when they
travel to North Andover, Mass. to face Merrimack at 5:30 p.m.
Franklin Pierce is 19-6 overall and 16-6 in the Northeast-10, as a
win on Wednesday night would give the Ravens 20 victories in a
season for the fourth-straight year.
