Ravens Tennis Falls in Close Match at Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (4/10/25) – The Franklin Pierce Ravens men's tennis team fell short on Wednesday afternoon against the Adelphi Panthers, losing the match 4-3 in Northeast-10 conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the #1 singles match, Marko Jovanovic of Adelphi defeated graduate Joe Herin (Tias, Spain) in two sets 6-3, 6-4.
- In #2 singles, graduate Noe Martin (Sainte-Agnès, France) won his match in two sets, 6-2 and 7-5.
- The momentum from the win carried over into the #3 singles match for the Ravens. Graduate Ralph Hiebel (Paris, France) impressed with a win in two sets, 6-2 and 7-5 as well.
- To close out in #4 singles, graduate Alejandro Ortiz (Madrid, Spain) dropped his match in two sets 6-1, 6-3.
- In #5 singles, junior Orlando Guerrero (Pachuco, Mexico) dropped his match in two sets, 6-2, 6-3.
- To close out in #6 singles, sophomore Hugo Diaz Avila (Barcelona, Spain) fell short in two sets, 7-5 and 6-1.
- Although the Panthers solidified the win by earning 4 points in the singles matches, the Ravens performed well in the doubles matches as they swept all 3 to earn a point. In #1 doubles, Joe Herin and Noe Martin won a tight match 7-6, winning the tie-breaker 7-4. In #2 doubles, Ralph Hiebel and Alejandro Ortiz performed well, winning their match 7-5. To close out in #3 doubles, Hugo Diaz Avila and Orlando Guerrero also won their match 7-5.
