Men's Lacrosse Falls at #4 Le Moyne 20-4 on Saturday
Edward Noonan logs multiple points for third-consecutive game; Ryan Dintaman scores twice
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (March 19, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce
University men's lacrosse team dropped a 20-4 decision to No.
4-nationally ranked Le Moyne on Saturday afternoon in Syracuse,
N.Y. The Ravens dipped to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the Northeast-10
Conference, while the Dolphins improved to 3-1 and 1-0 in league
play.
Freshman midfielder Edward Noonan (Foxboro, Mass.)
and junior attacker Ryan Dintaman (Northfield,
Mass.) each scored a pair of unassisted goals on the
afternoon for the Ravens. It marked the fourth-straight game Noonan
recorded at least one point, and the third-straight contest he
logged multiple points.
Le Moyne opened the game with a pair of goals, but the Ravens
countered with a tally with a little more than four minutes
remaining in the first quarter as Dintaman tallied his first
marker.
However, the Dolphins had an answer and bridged the first, second,
third and fourth quarters with 12-consecutive goals to open up a
commanding 14-1 advantage.
Dintaman tossed in his second goal at the 13:11 mark of the fourth
to cap his offensive day, and Noonan scored twice in the final 2:52
to round out the scoring for the Ravens.
Franklin Pierce rookie Tim Izzo (Trumbull, Conn.)
started in goal and suffered the loss after playing 50 minutes and
making nine saves while yielding 18 goals. Senior Shea
Campbell (Centerport, N.Y.) saw action in goal during the
final 10 minutes.
Franklin Pierce returns to action next Saturday when the Ravens
travel to New York to face the Pace Setters at 1 p.m.
