HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Ravens struck first early in the 1st period, just 1:17 into the contest. Sophomore forward Cooper Anderson (Marquette, Mich.) corralled the loose puck in the neutral zone and buried a wrister from the right circle to give the Ravens the 1-0 lead.
  • The Ravens couldn't contain the Purple Knights for the rest of the 1st period, as they scored 4 straight to take the 4-1 lead off the sticks of Brayden Naumann, David Ciancio, Jack Bavis, and Roman Winicki.
  • The Ravens stopped the bleeding momentarily 15:26 into the period. Freshman forward Trent King (Malone, N.Y.) dished a pass over to freshman forward Mario Paganini (Harrison, N.Y.) who tucked it in the back of the net to cut the deficit to 4-2. However, the Purple Knights capped off their dominant first period with a late goal with just 39 seconds left from Quinn McCarthy. The Purple Knights took the 5-2 lead into the 1st intermission.
  • Despite the Ravens outshooting the Purple Knights 8-5 in the 2nd period, the Purple Knights scored again courtesy of Ty Bloom, putting them in front 6-2.
  • The Purple Knights offense continued to fire in the 3rd period scoring 5:28 into the frame from Jack Macdonald, taking the 7-2 lead.
  • The Ravens ended the game on a positive note, scoring 12:34 into the 3rd period. Sophomore forward Nick Fish (Ashland, Mass.) came streaking into the offensive zone and ripped a shot into the right corner to cut the deficit to 7-3. The Purple Knights finished with the 7-3 victory.
