(March 27, 2014) – A pair of Franklin Pierce University student-athletes were honored on Thursday by being named to the 2014 Northeast-10 Conference Winter Sports All-Academic Team in their respective sport. The duo included women’s basketball senior guard Brooke Coderre (Woonsocket, R.I.) and men’s indoor track & field sophomore athlete Max Fanwick (Wilton, Conn.).

(February 28, 2014) – Senior guard Brittany Martelle (Brookfield, Conn.) had a terrific all-around game of 21 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals Friday night to lead the Franklin Pierce University women’s basketball team to a come-from-behind 74-66 triumph over Southern Connecticut State in the first round of the 2014 Northeast-10 Conference Championship at The Fieldhouse in Rindge.

Kara Charette & Brittany Martelle Earn NE-10 All-Conference Recognition

Charette, a sophomore forward, earned All-NE-10 Second-Team honors, while Martelle (a senior guard) was placed on the third-team. It marked the second all-conference recognition for Charette, who was named to the conference’s all-rookie team last season. Martelle was recognized by the league for the first time in her career.

The move was made due to the inclement weather expected to move into the Monadnock region late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.
