Men’s Basketball Falls at Bentley, 86-71, in Northeast-10 Championship Quarterfinal

WALTHAM, Mass. (February 28, 2016) – A team-high 18 points from sophomore center Mike McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine) and 13 more for senior guard Tyler Iacuone (Mahopac, N.Y.) were not enough for the Franklin Pierce University men’s basketball team on Sunday afternoon, in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship. A 17-4 run surrounding halftime proved to be the difference, as Bentley pulled away in the second half for an 86-71 win at Dana Center.
Men’s Basketball Hangs on at Le Moyne for 73-69 Win in Northeast-10 First Round

RINDGE, N.H. (February 26, 2016) – A layup by junior guard Donte Gittens (Hartford, Conn.) with just 38 seconds to go put the Franklin Pierce University men’s basketball team up for good on Friday night in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship. After giving the Ravens the lead, Gittens and junior guard Matt Banton (Brooklyn, N.Y.) combined to go 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in the final 20 seconds to finish off the 73-69 win over Le Moyne at Ted Grant Court.

(February 23, 2016) -- Junior guard Donte Gittens (Hartford, Conn.) poured in 22 points to help push the Franklin Pierce University men’s basketball team to victory over Assumption on Tuesday night in the Fieldhouse. Junior guard Matt Banton (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added a trio of three-pointers as part of a 13-point night, as the Ravens walked away with a 78-66 win over the Greyhounds.

(February 20, 2016) – A 23-point outing for junior guard Matt Banton (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was not enough to get the win on the road for the Franklin Pierce University men’s basketball team against the Merrimack College Warriors on Saturday afternoon. After a three-pointer by junior guard Donte Gittens (Hartford, Conn.) in the final moments of the half, the Warriors would walk away victorious after a three-point buzzer-beater by senior guard Gelvis Solano to make the final score 69-66 at Hammel Court.

(February 17, 2016) -- Junior Guard Donte Gittens’ (Hartford, Conn.) double-double was not enough for the Franklin Pierce University men’s basketball team to push past Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday night at the SNHU Fieldhouse. Despite his scoring 15 points and collecting 11 rebounds, the Ravens were unable to walk away with a road victory, after the Penmen posted an 89-75 win.

On Saturday afternoon, the Ravens got an early lead to help post the 92-82 win over the Falcons in the Fieldhouse.

(February 6, 2016) -- Stonehill was able to keep a double-digit lead for most of the game on Saturday afternoon, but the Franklin Pierce University men’s basketball team was able to put together enough points to come within one point after junior guard Donte Gittens (Hartford, Conn.) sank a three-pointer. Ultimately, however, Franklin Pierce could not come all the way back and dropped the Northeast-10 decision, 81-79, in the Fieldhouse.

RINDGE, N.H (January 23, 2016) – Ten three-pointers, including seven in the first half, helped the Franklin Pierce University men’s basketball team build a lead as large as 12 points over Southern Connecticut State in the second half on Saturday afternoon. SCSU -- only thrice beaten on the season entering the game -- would stage a late comeback, and even take the lead briefly, but a free throw by junior guard Donte Gittens (Hartford, Conn.) with 11 seconds to play put the Ravens ahead to stay, as they posted an 81-79 victory in Northeast-10 Conference play in the Fieldhouse.

However, the Franklin Pierce Ravens Men’s Basketball could not find their way to a win against the University of New Haven Chargers, as the Ravens fell 67-51 in Northeast-10 Conference play.
