COLCHESTER, Vt. (November 6, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's cross country program was able to match its program-beset Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Sunday, as the Ravens took sixth out of 13 teams in the 2022 edition of the meet, which was hosted by Saint Michael's. Franklin Pierce also had multiple All-NE10 finishers for the first time in program history. Leading the Ravens was junior Meghan Sheline (Southington, Conn.), who took 16th with her 23:50 time for the 6k course.

The sixth-place finish matched the team's best-ever performance at the NE10 Championship, which previously occurred in 2019. Sheline was joined on the All-NE10 Third Team by graduate student Saylee Missell (Stafford Springs, Conn.), who finished 19th (23:55) in the 107-runner field. Graduate student Alena Masterson (Pelham, N.H.) took home the Elite 24 award, as the competitor with the highest grade-point average. It was the fourth straight year she was the award's recipient.

Shortly behind Missell was senior Victoria Van Houten (Wantage, N.J.), whose 25:06 finish allowed her to take 39th. After finishing in 25:38, graduate student Alana Thompson (Westampton, N.J.) took 48th, while junior Jasmin Baillargeon (South Wheelock, Vt.) claimed 51st for her 25:54 time to finish out the points for the Ravens.

It all added up to 162 points and the sixth-place finish for Franklin Pierce. At the head of the 13-team field, Southern New Hampshire (39 points) took home the first NE10 title in program history, over Adelphi (82 points) and Saint Anselm (104 points).

Outside of the team's scoring five, there were five other Ravens in action on Sunday: were Masterson in 54th (26:08), senior Meagan Foley (Beverly, Mass.) in 55th (26:10), junior Katie Peterson (Derry, N.H.) in 78th (27:27), junior Emma Cutter (Newburyport, Mass.) in 87th (28:29), and junior Kelsey Gregorio (New Boston, N.H.) in 103rd (33:40).

Franklin Pierce will be back once again for the NCAA Championship East Regional, hosted by Adelphi, on Saturday, Nov. 19.
