Women’s Cross Country’s Donnelly Named NE10 Athlete of the Week

Northeast-10 Conference Cross Country Weekly Report

MANSFIELD, Mass. (September 14, 2021) -- Graduate student Bethaney Donnelly (Manchester, United Kingdom) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s cross country team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on Sept. 12, as announced on Tuesday by the league office. In addition, sophomore Wondu Summa (Burlington, Vt.) from the men’s team landed on the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll.

Donnelly picked up a meet victory on Saturday, as she led the field at the Smith College Invitational, with a 5k time of 18:39. Her performance led the Ravens to a second-place finish in the eight-team field.

Summa was victorious as well for the Ravens on Saturday, with a 5k time of 16:14, to lead Franklin Pierce to the team victory. It was Summa’s second straight win to open the season, as he also took first place at the Mount St. Mary’s Duals on Sept. 3.

The Ravens are back in action next weekend at UMass Dartmouth, on Saturday, Sept. 18.
