Johnson Earns Northeast-10 All-Conference Honors

Orange, Mass. native earns her third straight All-Conference accolades

RINDGE, N.H. (November 18, 2002) - Senior Mandy Johnson (Orange, Mass./Maher Regional) earned All-Northeast-10 Conference second team honors as voted by the Conference coaches. The announcement was made today by the Northeast-10 Conference headquarters.

Johnson earns her third-straight Northeast-10 All-Conference honor, as she was named to the second team this year after earning back-to-back third team honors in the previous two seasons.

Johnson, a middle hitter, is the team's top performer on the 2002 squad, as she leads the team in kills (3.84 p/g), service aces (.93 p/g), blocks (.89 p/g) and kill percentage (.363). Her kills and service aces per game rank second in the Northeast-10, while her kill percentage ranks fifth.

A four-year tri-captain, Johnson also was honored earlier in the week, becoming one of the first players in program history to earn Verizon District I Academic All-America second team honors. In addition, she became the first player in program history to earn NE-10 Player of the Week kudos.

"Mandy is a special volleyball player," said head coach Jayson King. "She has been the backbone of our program for the last 4 years and she will be a very hard one to replace for all that she does for our team. She deserves every accolade that she gets."

The Ravens wrapped up the regular season with its best finish in the Northeast-10 Conference since joining in 2000. The team compiled a 14-10 record overall, 6-8 in the NE-10.
