MANSFIELD, Mass. (4/4/23) – It took all of one week outdoors for a pair of Franklin Pierce track & field athletes to collect weekly honors from the Northeast-10 Conference, as freshman Lalo Lopez (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Elizabeth Jones (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) were named the NE10's Track Rookie and Field Rookie of the Week, respectively. The official announcement was made by the league offices on Tueday afternoon.

It is the first round of outdoor weekly honors for both athletes, while Jones also received Field Rookie recognition once for the indoor season.

At last weekend's Southern New Hamsphire University Twilight meet,  Jones claimed the win in the Women's Pole Vault clearing a bar of 2.9 meters. The mark was also the second-best for the event in Franklin Pierce outdoor program history. On the other side, Lopez rounded out a pair of notable performances at SNHU, beginning with a top-finish in the Men's 200-Meter Dash with a finishing time of 22.60. Additionally, Lopez also finished third-overall finish in the Men's 100-Meter Dash, with a time of 11.19.

The spring season will continue this coming weekend as both sides of the team make the short trip to Fitchburg State University for the annual Jim Sheehan Invitational on Saturday, April 8^th.
