HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Ravens got on the board just about four minutes into the first quarter when Hayley Hermsdorf (Center Moriches, N.Y.), fed the ball inside to a cutting Kayli Hoefs (Amsterdam, N.Y.), who scored an easy one on one with the Hawk goalie making it 1-0 Ravens.
  • After the opening goal, the Hawks proceeded to run away with the game. The Hawks went on a 6-goal run, headlined by a first quarter hattrick from Alison Ferullo. Isabella Stuzynski, Samantha Rivet, and Kendra Sabotka also contributed goals for the Hawks in the first quarter making it 6-1.
  • As in the first quarter, the Ravens scored first when Olivia DeLonais (North Andover, Mass.), weaved her way through the Hawk defense and flushed in low shot to give one back for the Ravens, 6-2.
  • Six minutes later Hermsdorf again found a cutting Hoefs and was able to finish and cut the lead in half, 6-3.
  • The Hawks responded by scoring three times before half with Lucy Mawn, Sabotka for her second goal, and Jess Sullivan, extending the Hawk lead to 9-3.
  • The third quarter saw little goal scoring as Isabella Stuzynski scored her second goal of the game and the only one in the quarter, making the lead now 10-3.
  • The fourth quarter was all Hawks as they scored 7 unanswered goals. Ferullo scored her fourth goal as well as Stuzynski, who had two in the quarter. Maggie Fitzgerald, Jaycie Balboni, Sullivan, and Lucy Mawn also scored in the quarter giving the Hawks a 17-3 win.
