Women’s Ice Hockey’s Faucher Named NEWHA Goaltender of the Week

Suzette Faucher

NEWHA Weekly Release

WINTHROP, Mass. (October 13, 2021) -- Sophomore Suzette Faucher (Middleton, Wis.) of the Franklin Pierce University women's ice hockey team has been named as New England Women's Hockey Alliance Goaltender of the Week, for the week ending on Oct. 10, as announced earlier this week by the NEWHA office.

It is the first weekly NEWHA award for the sophomore netminder, who tended the crease in Saturday's 1-0 loss at Mercyhurst. Faucher piled up 41 saves against 42 shots to record the first 40-save game of her career in her season debut.

The Ravens (0-2-0) have a home-and-home on the calendar this weekend with Hockey East opponent -- and former NEWHA member -- Holy Cross. The two will meet at Holy Cross at 6 p.m. Friday and at Franklin Pierce at 3 p.m. Saturday.
