HUDSON, N.H. (September 26, 2022) -- For the second straight week, sophomore Phisonlaya Ruayruen (Chiangmai, Thailand) was the medalist. For the second straight week, she led the Franklin Pierce University women's golf team to victory as well, this time atop an eight-team field at the Franklin Pierce Invitational. Ruayruen's Monday 73 (+3) keyed a second-round 304 (+24) for the Ravens, who scored a 21-stroke win over second-place Stonehill. The two-day event was held at the par-70, 5632-yard Green Meadow Golf Club.

Ruayruen had been tied for the lead after Sunday's play, and turned in Monday's second-lowest round to secure her second collegiate win. She put together a career-best 36-hole line of 71-73--144 (+4), which was good for a three-shot victory over a trio tied-second at 147 (+7). Those in the tie for second included the first-round co-leader, Saint Rose senior Erika Fuentes, at 71-76--147, along with Franklin Pierce sophomore Kesinee Prukmathakul (Bangkok, Thailand) at 72-75--147 and Stonehill senior Julia Dapron at 75-72--147. Dapron's 72 (+2) was Monday's low score and moved her five spots up the leaderboard. The field averaged 87.86 strokes on Monday, just under a stroke higher than Sunday's first round.

Franklin Pierce had three players in the top six and put all five members of its lineup inside the top 15 of the 55-golfer field. Behind the Thai pair, senior Micaela Leandro (Harlingen, Texas) was solo-sixth at 74-76--150 (+10), which represented a career 36-hole best by 13 strokes. Freshman Lorelai Flanagan (Arlington, Mass.) finished tied-13th at 78-80--158 (+18), while senior Alia Godek (Feeding Hills, Mass.) was tied-15th at 77-82--159 (+19).

The low four scores of the quintet meant a second-round 304 (+24) for the Ravens, 10 shots worse than Sunday's first round, but still the best score of the day by 13 shots. Franklin Pierce finished at 294-304--598 (+38) and closed out a 21-shot victory over Stonehill, which checked in at 302-317--619 (+59). Adelphi took third at 320-324--644 (+64).

Franklin Pierce also had a pair of individuals in action at the tournament. Junior Alexis St. Laurent (Nashua, N.H.) posted a career-best 36-hole score of 79-84--163 (+23) to finish solo-21st, while freshman Madison Martel (Waterford, N.Y.) turned in a pair of 94s (+24) to finish tied-44th at 188 (+48).

The Ravens have an off weekend, before returning to action on Oct. 7-8, at the Saint Rose Invitational, held at Pinehaven Country Club in Guilderland, N.Y.
