Women's Basketball: Slow Start Sinks Ravens 63-50 Against St. Rose

Albany, NY (11/29/23) -- The Franklin Pierce women's basketball team took a 63-50 loss on Wednesday night to the Golden Knights of Saint Rose on the road at Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Golden Knights' starting guard Payton Graber and starting center Maddisyn Mahoney both led the team with 19 points. Graber shot 7-12 from the field and Mahoney shot 9-12.
- Guard Aniya McDonald-Perry led both teams with 11 rebounds, giving the Golden Knights more chances with the ball.
- The Golden Knights outscored the Ravens 16-7 in the 1st quarter, which set the tone for the rest of the game.
- The Ravens' top scorers did not break ten points. Forward LyNeta Brand led the team with 8 points.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:
- The Ravens shot 35% from the field while the Golden Knights shot 45%.
- The Ravens shot 30% from beyond the arc while the Golden Knights only shot 24%.
- The Golden Knights did better at the line making 82% of their free throws compared to the Ravens' 77%.
- The Golden Knights picked up more rebounds with 38 compared to the Ravens' 24.
- The Ravens had more turnovers with 22 compared to the Golden Knights' 21.
