Mansfield, Mass. (3/14/22) - Following a strong start to the 2022 season, Softball sophomore Ashley Cangiano (North Attleboro, Mass.) was announced today as the recipient of the NE10 "Player of the Week" honors, per the announcement by the conference this afternoon.

In her second season with the program, this is the first time in here collegiate career receiving Player of the Week accolades from the NE10 Conference.

Softball has kicked off their season with a trip down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a series of games through the weekend and into this week. So far, despite some cancellations, the Ravens have been dominant during their trip, with Cangiano being a salient presence through three games.  

Through three games, Cangiano's red hot play has been good for the team lead in three categories: Hits (5), runs scored (5), and stolen bases (3) with seven total plate appearances. Included in her stolen base totals, Cangiano has been a lethal force so far when it comes to getting the Ravens in scoring position, both off of hits and walks.  

Ashley Cangiano and Franklin Pierce Softball will continue their Myrtle Beach trip with a trio of games today, including a double-header versus Mansfield University, scheduled for 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM respectively, and a finale against the University of St. Joseph (Connecticut) at 5:30 PM E.T.
