Softball Shines With Eleven Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes

LOUISVILLE, KY (8/5/22) – Per the official announcement by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Monday afternoon, eleven total members of the 2022 Franklin Pierce University softball team were each recognized as recipients of the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors.
14 Ravens Selected to the NE10 Spring Academic All-Conference Team

MANSFIELD, Mass. (June 26, 2022) - Fourteen Franklin Pierce student-athletes across seven spring sports pushed the envelope in the classroom, earning NE10 Academic All-Conference accolades per the official announcement by the league office on Wednesday morning. The fourteen Ravens selected to Academic All-Conference were out of a pool of 130 total selectees from the NE10 Conference for the 2022 spring season.
Softball's Gina Hinckley Named To The CoSIDA Division II Academic All-District Team (District 1)

RINDGE, N.H (5/17/22) – Franklin Pierce University graduate student Gina Hinckley (Lancaster, Mass.) was named to the CoSIDA Division II Academic All-District (District 1) Softball Team on Thursday, May 12th. With her selection for the 2021-22 year, Hinckley becomes eligible for the Academic All American Team ballot, in which the selectees will be announced this June.

(5/11/22) – As the clock counts down to the start of the NCAA Division II Softball Championship, the awards keep on piling up as a trio of Franklin Pierce softball members were honored as National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) All-Region selections, with two additionally receiving Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) accolades, as was announced on Wednesday afternoon.

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (5/9/22) – It was never really a question of how, but rather a question of when for the Franklin Pierce softball team, who punched their ticket to the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history following their record setting season. Per the official announcement made by the NCAA early Monday morning, the Ravens will enter as the #6 seeded team in the East Region, and will face the #3 seed Wilmington University (DE) in the first round.

(5/4/22) – A group of four members of the Franklin Pierce University softball team were recently selected as recipients of season accolades from the Northeast-10 Conference, the league office announced. Leading the way, freshman Lita Vorseth (Mesa, Ariz.) and sophomore Ashley Cangiano (North Attleboro, Mass.) each garnered First Team All-Conference honors. Joining them on the podium, graduate Gina Hinckley (Lancaster, Mass.) was named a recipient of Second Team All-Conference honors, and freshman Bella Williams (Phoenix, Ariz.) collected Third Team All-Conference distinction.

Softball Finishes Regular Season With Sweep at AIC, 11-3 & 6-4

(4/30/22) – With their regular season coming to a close on Saturday afternoon, the Franklin Pierce University softball team battled American International College in a road doubleheader. The Ravens opened the afternoon with an 11-3 mercy-rule victory through six innings, and closed it out with a 6-4 final to sweep the Yellowjackets on the road.
Softball Opens Doubleheader With Mercy Rule Win, Earns Split at Assumption

WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS (4/29/2022) – Franklin Pierce University Softball traveled to Worcester State to play the Assumption Greyhounds in a doubleheader matchup with major playoff implications on the line for both teams. Heading into this doubleheader matchup, Franklin Pierce was tied for third place in the Northeast-10 Conference with Southern New Hampshire and Pace University. This season, Franklin Pierce needs to win the rest of its games to clinch the third seed for the Northeast-10 playoffs. The Ravens had a ten-run first inning entourage in game one against Assumption, and the Ravens ended up winning in five innings, 19-7. In game two between these two teams, the Greyhounds responded with some great pitching and were able to win 6-2 over Franklin Pierce.
Softball Bounces Back With Closing Game Shellacking to Earn Split at Stonehill

Easton, Mass. (4/27/22) – Franklin Pierce University Softball kicked off their season closing road trip with a conference doubleheader at Stonehill College. Late defensive miscues ended up costing the Ravens in an opening game 3-2 walk-off loss to the Skyhawks, but a huge response with an eight-run third inning propelled the Ravens to a 10-3 victory to earn a split in the twin bill.
Softball Celebrates Senior Day With Home Split Versus Le Moyne

Rindge, N.H. (4/24/22) - The Franklin Pierce University softball team concluded their 2022 home schedule and celebrated the senior members of the team with a doubleheader matchup on Sunday afternoon, playing host to Le Moyne College. A three run fourth inning lifted the Ravens to a 5-2 opening game victory over the Dolphins, but a rebound effort defensively from Le Moyne in the closing game silenced the Ravens offense in a 2-0 shutout loss for the split.
