Men’s Cross Country Places 20th at Lewis Crossover

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (October 9, 2021) - The Franklin Pierce University men's cross country team traveled to the greater Chicago area this weekend to compete in the Lewis Crossover. The event was replete with nationally ranked teams and marked the strongest field the Ravens will face all season. Overall, the team accumulated 551 points to finish 20th out of 24 total teams.

Coming across the line first for the Ravens was sophomore Wondu Summa (Burlington, Vt.), who claimed 73rd, out of 233 runners, for his 26:14 time on the 8k course. In 114th was senior Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.), who raced a time of 26:50. In 154th, graduate student Sebastien Vicary (Ulceby, United Kingdom) crossed the line in 27:33.

Next was sophomore Thomas Darrah (Thetford, Vt.) in 163rd for his 27:39 time. Senior Cody Tallent (Bellows Falls, Vt.) was shortly after, claiming 174th for his 27:51 time to round out Franklin Pierce's scoring five. In 184th was sophomore Ryan Outerbridge (Paget, Bermuda) for his 28:08 time. Senior William Aylward (Peabody, Mass.) came in 195th for his 28:33 time.

The event was the final pre-championship meet for the Ravens, who will be back in action at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Sunday, Oct. 24. Saint Anselm will serve as host in Manchester, N.H.
