MANSFIELD, Mass. (September 21, 2021) -- Two members of the Franklin Pierce University cross country program have combined to collect three weekly Northeast-10 Conference awards, for the week ending on Sept. 19, as announced on Tuesday by the league office. Sophomore Wondu Summa (Burlington, Vt.) took home NE10 Athlete and Rookie of the Week honors on the men’s side, while graduate student Bethaney Donnelly (Manchester, United Kingdom) was the NE10 Athlete of the Week for the women.

Both turned in school-record times on Saturday, to lead the way for their respective squads at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. In the men’s five-mile race, Summa clocked a time of 24:42, which was good for eighth place in a 256-runner field, and helped the Ravens to fourth place, out of 33 teams. In the women’s 5k, it was a run of 17:47 for Donnelly, to put her third, out of 234 runners, as Franklin Pierce finished 16th, out of 30 teams.

The Ravens are off this week and then back to action on Saturday, Oct. 2, when they host the Bruce Kirsh Cup, at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H.
