Second-straight year at least one Raven runner is competing in the national championship event

RINDGE, N.H. (February 14, 2014) – Franklin Pierce University cross country standout Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.) will be representing the program on a national level this Saturday when he competes in the 2014 USA Cross Country National Championships in Boulder, Colo. The event will be held at Flatirons Golf Course, and Holmes will be competing in the junior 8k national championship race.

It marks the second-straight year at least one Raven runner will be competing in the national championship event, as Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.) and Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) competed in the national finals last season in St. Louis, Mo.

Holmes put together a solid freshman season for the Ravens in 2013, by registering a trio of top-30 finishes, including a seventh-place performance in his collegiate debut at the Roger Williams Invitational in early September. He also turned in a respectable 24^th place showing at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, and was a member of the Ravens’ top-seven that competed in both the NCAA East Regional Championship, and the NCAA National Championship.

Saturday’s national championship race will begin at 10:45 a.m. (CT), and will feature the top junior runners in the country from high school to the collegiate level.
