Men's Cross Country Finishes 33rd at New England Championships
Ryan Cross finishes 181st
WESTFIELD, Mass. (October 7, 2012) -- The Franklin Pierce University men's cross country team finished 33rd out of 37 teams on Sunday at the 2012 New England Championships held at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass.
The Ravens were led by freshman runner Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.), who finished 130th out of 261 competitors in a time of 26:10.13 in the five-mile race.
Following Ham was rookie Ryan Cross (Suffern, N.Y.), who placed 181st with a time of 26:53.12. The other Raven to finish among the top 200 was classmate Chaz Munroe (Concord, N.H.), who placed 197th in a time of 27:06.64.
Freshman harrier Isaac Fithian (Kingston, N.H.) placed 206th in a time of 27:18.05, while the other Raven to count towards the team score was sophomore Joe Trujillo (Derry, N.H.) as he finished 212th in a mark of 27:31.55.
Dartmouth won the men's race, while Boston College followed in second place. Franklin Pierce did finish three spots ahead of fellow NE-10 member Saint Michael's in the team standings.
Franklin Pierce is off next week, but will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 20, when the Ravens compete in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship held in Syracuse, N.Y.
