MANSFIELD, Mass. (4/19/23) – Per the official announcement from the league offices on Tuesday afternoon, freshman Benjamin Gilbert (Windsor, Vt.) was unveiled as the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Outdoor Field Rookie of the Week.

In his first outdoor season with Pierce, it is his first time receiving weekly accolades from the conference.

With the team dividing up for two different meets this past weekend, Gilbert was a standout individual for the men's side at Saturday afternoon's Southern New Hampshire University Penmen Relays. As a competitor in multiple field events, Gilbert shattered the program's Discus record by hitting a mark of 43.04 meters, additionally winning the event altogether.  The Raven freshman also placed 7^th individually in the Men's Shot Put with an 11.96 meters.

Track and field will compete at the upcoming Sean Collier Invitational, hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The meet will stretch across two days, beginning on Friday, April 24^th.
