19 Total Medalists Help Men Finish 5th, Women 4th at Northeast-10 Championships

BOSTON, Mass. (2/17/23) – Things came to a close on day two of the Northeast-10 Indoor Championships on Friday afternoon, with the Franklin Pierce indoor track and field program securing another handful of individual title winners at The TRACK at New Balance. As a team, the Raven men claimed 5th-overall (76 points) out of a nine team field, while the women took 4th-overall out of 10 participating NE10 schools.

The Ravens witnessed three new individual Northeast-10 Champions on the podium through the second day, and rattled off 27 new personal records, along with 19 total medal winners across both days of the event.

Leading off the list of new champions was junior thrower Tyra Felton (Sterling, Mass.), who repeated as the top-finisher in the Women's Shot Put for the second consecutive season with a 12.05 meter mark. Not to long after, senior Nyjah Young-Bey (Montclair, N.J.) continued to dominate in the Women's 400-Meter with her second consecutive indoor title, finishing with a 56.11 race time. Young-Bey would also go on to place 2nd in the Women's 200-Meter (24.90).

Graduate Sebastien Vicary (Ulceby, United Kingdom) claimed the lone second day title for the men's side, seizing the win in the Men's 3000-Meter Run with an 8:42.51 race time, adding on to his 2nd place finish in the men's 5000-Meter yesterday afternoon.

PIERCE PLUS PERFORMERS (DAY TWO) - MEN

  • Junior Stephen Harris (Billerica, Mass.) placed 2nd in the Men's 200-Meter finals (21.64), 9th in the Men's 60-Meter Dash preliminaries (7.08)
  • Senior Devin Jones (Manchester, N.H.) finished 9th in the Men's 200-Meter preliminaries (22.32)
  • Junior Nathan Rinaldi placed 10th in the Men's 400-Meter preliminaries (50.59)
  • Junior Ryan Walker (Seabrook, N.H.) took runner-up in the Men's 800-Meter finals (1:53.15)
  • Junior Ryan Outerbridge (Paget, Bermuda) placed 3rd in the Men's Mile (4:18.86)
  • Sophomore Harrision Pelosi (Gloucester, Mass.) took 7th in the Men's Mile (4:31.91)
  • Graduate Sebastien Vicary claimed 1st in the Men's 3000-Meter (NE10 Champion - 8:42.51)  finished runner-up in the Men's 5000-Meter (14:58.17)
  • Junior Tad Darrah (Thetford, Vt.) placed 9th in the Men's 3000-Meter (8:42.51), finished 8th in the Men's 5000-Meter (15:50.93)
  • Sophomore Logan Mihelich (Northwood, N.H.) finished 10th in both the Men's 3000-Meter (9:24.18) and 5000-Meter (16:05.16)
  • The Men's Distance Medley Relay (Fenoff, Rinaldi, McNeice, Outerbridge) placed 1st (NE10 Champion – 10:09.77)
  • The Men's 4x400 Relay (Harris, Lopez, Rinaldi, Jones) took 3rd-overall (3:21.26)
  • The Men's 4x800 Relay (McNeice, Fenoff, Outerbridge, Walker) took 4th-overall (7:51.05)
  • Sophomore Ailoune Diaw (Cumberland, R.I.) placed 9th in the Men's High Jump (1.73m)
  • Junior Connor Nordmann (Bethel, Conn.) earned 6th in the Men's Pole Vault (3.95m)
  • Freshman Chance Conklin (Naugatuck, Conn.) placed 8th in the Men's Pole Vault (3.35m)
  • Senior Connor Everidge took runner-up in the Men's Weight Throw (17.41m)
  • Junior Salvatore Lando (Sterling, Mass.) placed 9th in the Men's Weight Throw (14.43m)


PIERCE PLUS PERFORMERS (FULL EVENT) – WOMEN

  • Senior Nyjah Young-Bey took the win in the Women's 400-Meter finals (NE10 Champion – 56.11), finished runner-up in the Women's 200-Meter finals (24.90)
  • Sophomore Brianha Bouchard placed 9th in the Women's 60-Meter Hurdles preliminaries (10.06), claimed 4th in the Women's Pentathlon (2655 points)
  • Freshman Mia Beaudet (Chadds Ford, Pa.) claimed 10th in the Women's 60-Meter Hurdles preliminaries (10.54)
  • The Women's DMR (Missell, Masterson, Sheline, Thompson) finished 3rd overall (12:48.74)
  • The Women's 4x800 Relay (Thompson, Masterson, Van Houten, Missell) claimed 3rd out of seven teams (9:48.72)
  • The Women's 4x400 Relay (Bouchard, Sheline, Beaudet, Young-Bey) placed 7th out of 10 participants (4:13.13)
  • Sophomore Nouhayla Errahili (Fez, Morroco) took runner-up in the Women's High Jump (1.71m)
  • Freshman Elizabeth Jones (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) took the win in the Women's Pole Vault (NE10 Champion – 3.05m)
  • Sophomore Teresa Deasy (Smithtown, N.Y.) placed 4th in the Women's Pole Vault (2.73m)
  • Junior Emma Cutter (Newburybort, Mass.) took 9th in the Women's Pole Vault (2.28m)
  • Junior Grace Silva (Warren, R.I.) T-10th in the Women's Pole Vault (2.13m)
  • Junior Tyra Felton placed 1st in the Women's Shot Put (NE10 Champion – 12.05m), finished 6th in the Women's Weight Throw (13.66m)
  • Freshman Emily Nhun (Biddeford, Maine) rounded 8th in the Women's Shot Put (12.05m)

Select members of the indoor track and field teams will make their return to Boston, Massachusetts on Sunday, February 26th for the Last Chance Meet at Boston University.
