HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Ravens went down early after the Knights scored two goals in the first two minutes of the game.
  • Upperclassmen leadership helped the Ravens get back in the game after senior midfielder Ethan Cote (North Smithfield, RI) and junior midfielder Jackson Hale (Kensington, NH) grabbed a goal each, making it a 2-2 game.
  • The Knights put up another pair of goals in the final 90-seconds of the first quarter to make it a 4-2 game after 15 minutes.
  • Two and a half minutes into the second quarter, Jackson Hale scored his second goal of the game but after that the offense of both teams stalled making it a 4-3 at half.
  • Following halftime, the FPU turned on the jets offensively after three different Ravens tallied a goal. That included Hale, who secured a hattrick, along with Connor Henchey (Bellingham, MA) and Everett Hillman (Newington, CT) who chipped in a goal each.
  • Though the Ravens held the lead at the start of the fourth, the Knights fired back with three unanswered goals which gave them the 8-6 lead.
  • With 80 seconds on the clock, the Ravens earned a man up opportunity and Jackson Hale capitalized scoring his fourth of the game and cut the lead to one.
  • Bridgeport was able to win the following faceoff and kill the remaining minute of play to secure the 8-7 victory.
