Carr Carr's five-goal week earned him his first-ever Northeast-10 Player of the Week award.

RINDGE, N.H. (January 10, 2012) – Junior forward Michael Carr (South Boston, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University men's ice hockey team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for the week ending on Jan. 8, as announced Monday by the Conference office.

The Ravens went 0-3-0 last week, but Carr put together an offensive outburst in the week's first two games. Entering the game without a goal to his name on the season, he netted a pair of goals on Wednesday night against Saint Anselm. On Friday night, Carr followed up with three goals against SUNY Geneseo for his first career hat trick.

It is the first career Player of the Week honor for Carr, who was last honored by the Northeast-10 with a Weekly Honor Roll accolade for the week ending on Dec. 13, 2009. Earlier that season, he earned Freshman of the Week honors as well. So far this season, Carr has posted 5-1-6 in his first nine games.

The Ravens return to the ice this afternoon, when they travel to Suffolk for a non-conference contest. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Walter Brown Rink in Boston, Mass.
