RINDGE, N.H. (July 12, 2016) – The Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics has announced the addition of men's bowling as a sub-varsity sport. The program will be led by head women's bowling coach Kim Berit, and will begin competition in the 2017-18 academic year.

As the NCAA does not sponsor the sport of bowling on the men's side, the team will compete exclusively in collegiate events put on by the United States Bowling Congress.

The program will compete out of the Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Conference. The EIBC currently includes programs from the following institutions: the United States Military Academy, St. John's, Temple, Sacred Heart, New Jersey Institute of Technology and William Patterson.

The team's schedule is expected to include various tournaments, alongside conference-organized events, with an eye towards qualifying for the sectional rounds of the USBC's Intercollegiate Team Championship at the end of the season.
