STANDISH, Maine (October 23, 2001) - The Franklin Pierce University Women's field hockey team closed out the regular season with a 3-1 non-conference victory over Saint Joseph's College this afternoon. Freshman April Demers (Gorham, N.H./Gorham) netted her first collegiate goal, as she scored on a pass from teammate Chrystean Page (Turner, Maine/Leavitt) to put the Ravens up by one at the 12:07 mark of the first half.

(September 23, 2001) - The Franklin Pierce University women's field hockey team suffered their second straight shutout as they were defeated by defending Division II National Champions, No. 2 nationally ranked Lock Haven, by a score of 10-0 this afternoon. Lock Haven jumped out to the early lead at the 7:27 mark of the first half when Shannon Spease (Liverpool, Pa./Greenwood) scored on a breakaway pass from Erika Grap (Van Etten, N.Y./Spencer Van Etten). Megan Dwyer (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) then capitalized on a pass from Spease at the 16:17 mark of the first half to give the Lady Eagles the 2-0 lead.
FP Field Hockey Falls to Houghton College, 8-0

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (September 22, 2001) - The Franklin Pierce University women's field hockey team was shutout by Houghton College by a score of 8-0 this afternoon. Houghton's Rochelle Hershey (Ephrata, Penn./Conestoga Valley) helped the Highlanders jump out to the early lead, as she netted two of her four goals within the first ten minutes of the contest. Briana Burghardt (Lisle, N.Y./Whitney Point) put the Highlanders up by three goals when she scored on a penalty stroke at the 17:24 mark of the 1st half. By the end of the 1st half, the Highlanders added three more goals and claimed a 6-0 advantage.
