Cangiano and Everidge Nominated for Northeast-10 Man and Woman of the Year Awards

MANSFIELD, MASS. (5/7/2024) – Softball's Ashley Cangiano and Track and Field's Connor Everidge have been nominated for the 2023-24 Northeast-10 Conference's Man and Woman of the Year award.

Cangiano has cemented her name in the Franklin Pierce Softball record book for most hits, most RBIs, most runs, best batting average and sits second in homeruns. Over her four years in Rindge, Cangiano has racked up a laundry list of awards highlighted Rookie of the Year as a freshman and earned both All-American and NE10 Player of the Year in her junior season.

Everidge has been the wind in the sails for Track and Field's shotput, hammer, weight throw and discuss squads. He has collected five NE10 Championship medals including two gold, two silver and one bronze. Awards away from the field events Everidge has earned six Academic All-Conference awards, the NE10 Sports Excellence Award in 2022-23, and the Elite 24 Award in 2021-22.  

Following selection by the Conference's Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) Council, the NE10 released its list of 25 nominees Tuesday afternoon. According to the NE10, each member institution nominates student-athletes for both Man and Woman of the Year, focusing on each person's impact in their sport, in the classroom and in the community.

The 2023-24 academic year marks the 12th time that the league will award the NE10 Man of the Year honor, while the NE10 Woman of the Year honor has been awarded since 2005-06 and will be put forth as the league's official NCAA Woman of the Year candidate.

Men's basketball and women's lacrosse lead all sports with four nominees for Man and Woman of the Year, while field hockey had three nominees. The other sports with multiple nominees are football, ice hockey, men's track & field, softball and women's soccer.

This year's recipients will be announced at the NE10 Banquet at the Sheraton Needham (Needham, MA) on Tuesday, June 4.
