RINDGE, N.H. (July 1, 2010) – Franklin Pierce University had 132 of its student-athletes named to the Spring 2010 Northeast-10 Conference Comissioner’s Honor Roll earlier this week. The 132 student-athletes came from 15 teams on the Rindge campus that compete in the Northeast-10.

RINDGE, N.H. (April 18, 2010) – Five Franklin Pierce student-athletes were recently named to the 2010 Northeast-10 Winter Academic All-Conference team in their respective sports. Junior guard Kinard Dozier (Dedham, Mass.) earned a spot on the men’s basketball squad, while senior standout Johannah Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England) and junior guard Cynthia Gaudet (Coventry, R.I.) were named to the women’s basketball team. In ice hockey, senior forward Phil LaBreck (Thornton, N.H.) and junior forward Sean Woodring (Rogue River, Oregon) each earned a spot on the academic squad. Franklin Pierce was tied for the most academic selections in each of the three sports listed above.

RINDGE, N.H. (February 18, 2010) – The Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics had 150 student-athletes selected to the Northeast-10 Conference Fall Commissioner’s Honor Roll, as announced Wednesday by the conference office. To be eligible for selection to the Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have posted at least a 3.0 grade-point average during the fall 2009 semester. The 150 student-athletes who were honored represent 50.2% of the university’s 299 eligible student-athletes. In addition, nine Franklin Pierce athletes recorded perfect 4.0 grade-point averages last semester.

(February 5, 2010) – Sophomore forward Tia Levins (Manchester, Maine) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team and junior libero Chelsie Kohout (Harrison Township, Mich.) of the volleyball team have each been named to their respective Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference Teams for the fall semester, as announced Friday by the conference office. The pair of Ravens joins four men’s and women’s soccer players honored yesterday to give Franklin Pierce four All-Academic selections in the semester.

The former All-American spoke openly and candidly with a standing-room-only crowd of Ravens student-athletes in the Franklin Pierce Fieldhouse about his rise through Massachusetts high school basketball and his eventual fall out of the NBA as a three-time convicted drug felon.

(September 3, 2009) – The Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics would like to invite all university students, faculty and staff, as well as the surrounding Monadnock region to attend a presentation on Monday, Sept. 7th at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Pierce Fieldhouse. Former Boston Celtic and Fall River, Mass. native Chris Herren will share his life story as part of the university’s ‘Pierce Pride’ initiative. Herren was among the most highly-touted point guard in the high school class of 1994 and eventually fell out of the NBA after three felony convictions for drug possession and use.
