HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Penmen got off to a hot start taking advantage of Raven's errors to go ahead 10-6. The Ravens clawed back to tie it up and eventually take the lead for first time this set at 19-18. The Penmen tied it up at 21-21 and took the lead at 22-21 on a kill from Elsa Gilmore and eventually take the win on set one, 25-23.
- The Penmen started off hot once again going 4-0 from the start. On a service ace from Avery LeBlanc (Exeter, R.I.) the Ravens tied the set 8-8. The Penmen responded and continued to dominate to get ahead 19-14 on the Ravens. They would eventually take the set 25-23.
- The third set started much differently. The Ravens held the lead from the start, going up 4-1 on a service ace from Martina Spackova (Bratislava, Slovakia). SNHU tied it up at 8-8 and took the lead from there. However, the Ravens then regained the lead at 11-10 and continued to dominate. The set went back and forth as the Penmen had back-to-back blocks to tie the game at 16-16. Both teams would trade service errors and more, but the Ravens would eventually take set three, 25-23, to force another set.
- The fourth set would be all SNHU as they took the lead and never looked back. They would go up 8-3 and give the Ravens a chance but then the Penmen would go on a 12-point streak and eventually win the match on a 25-13 final score in the fourth set.
