Volleyball: Ravens Honor Seniors but Come Up Short Against Pace, 3-1

RINDGE N.H. (11/4/2023) – Despite a close battle with the Pace Setters, the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team couldn't withstand their pressure, falling by a 3-1 final on Saturday morning.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
· After dropping the 1st set 25-18, the Ravens responded in the second set notching a 25-23 victory
· Despite a slow start to begin the set, the Ravens went on a 5-2 run thanks to 3 powerful kills from Ingrid Lindstrom (Dudley, Mass.) to give them a 12-8 lead
· Pace would not let up and began to inch closer to the Ravens, but Avery LeBlanc (Exeter, R.I.) stepped up with 3 kills to give the Ravens a 20-17 lead
· Katholiki Koukia (Dodecanese, Greece) helped close out the set with 4 kills to tie sets at one a piece
· The Ravens and Setters continued to trade punches in the 4th set. Madelyn Boop (Reno, Nev.) hammered home two kills to make the score 11-11 in a tightly contested set
· Annaka Lindstrom (Dudley, Mass.) provided 2 kills and Avery LeBlanc added another to make it an 18-16 deficit, but the Setters would pull away to go up 2-1 in sets
· The Setters raced to a 5-0 lead to begin the 5th set
· The Ravens clawed back, going on an 11-6 run to tie things up at 11 a piece, with Madelyn Boop adding another 2 kills
· Despite the Ravens efforts, they couldn't stop the Setters and fell in the 4th set 25-22
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:
· In her last career home game, Ingrid Lindstrom led the Ravens in kills with 15
· Katholiki Koukia followed that up with 12 kills of her own
· Morgan Schmutzler (Lockport, Ill.) led the team in digs with 16 in her final home game
· Martina Spackova (Bratislava, Slovakia) led the way with 6 total blocks
