Franklin Pierce Tops Post University, 3-1
Ravens hit a combined .662 pct for the win
Nicole Buchholz collected 19 kills and five blocks on Wednesday
night at Post.

WATERBURY, Conn. (Oct. 5, 2005) –
The Franklin Pierce volleyball team collected 51 kills in 73
attempts (.662 pct) to defeat Post University, 3-1(30-27, 30-24,
28-30, 30-19)) in non-conference volleyball action this evening at
Post’s Drubner Center.
Franklin Pierce freshman Nicole
Buchholz (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) led the Ravens attack,
tallying 19 kills in 23 total attempts (.783 pct). She also
contributed five blocks in the match. Senior Jessica Ward (Clinton, Conn./The Morgan
School) was a key factor for the Ravens, contributing 18
kills, six digs, two aces and two blocks.
Freshman setter Karissa
Hookdstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo) totaled 42 assists,
while chipping in with seven digs, four kills and two blocks.
Senior captain Tara Vece (Clinton,
Conn./The Morgan School) aided the Ravens with 20 digs and
two aces.
Franklin Pierce (6-9, 4-2 NE-10) returns to action Saturday when
it host Saint Rose College at 2 p.m. Post University (11-10, 8-4
CACC) returns to action Monday when it travels to Philadelphia
University for a match starting at 4 p.m.
