Collett Named NE-10 Freshman Of The Week
Tombstone Ariz., native earns third weekly honor of the season
RINDGE, N.H. (October 27, 2003) –
Franklin Pierce freshman Christina
Collett (Tombstone, Ariz./Tombstone) was named the
Northeast-10 Conference volleyball co-Freshman of the Week by the
Conference office on Monday. This is the third time this season
Collett has received the honor.
Collett leads the Franklin Pierce volleyball team with an average
of 4.57 kills per game for the season. Last week, she tallied 4.46
kills per game and had 3.08 digs per game in a 1-2 week for the
Ravens.
Collett led the Ravens to a 3-1 victory over Keene State to begin
the week with a team-best 22 kills along with 13 digs and two aces.
In the second of the three matches, she tallied 14 kills, 17 digs
and two aces in a 3-2 loss to Bridgeport.
Closing out the week against Concordia in Franklin Pierce’s
final home match of the season, Collett totaled a match-high 22
kills and recorded 10 digs despite the loss.
Franklin Pierce (11-13, 4-8 NE-10) returns to action on November
4th, when it travels to UMass Lowell for a Northeast-10 Conference
match at 7 p.m.
