WORCESTER, Mass. (Oct. 16, 2003) – The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team defeated Assumption College 3-0 in Northeast-10 Conference volleyball action this evening.

Freshman Christina Collett (Tombstone, Ariz./Tombstone) led the Ravens with 16 kills, one ace and 11 digs. Briana Bates (Belmont, N.H./Endicott College) followed with 11 kills, three digs and three blocks. Senior setter Bethany Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) tallied 40 assists and five digs, while sophomore Tara Vece (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) recorded a team-high 24 digs in the win.

Franklin Pierce (9-10, 3-8 NE-10) returns to action on Saturday, when it hosts Southern Connecticut and Saint Anselm in Conference matches at noon and 2 p.m. Assumption (9-13, 2-8 NE-10) returns to the court on Tuesday, Oct. 21, when it travels to American International College for a League matchup at 7 p.m.
