Collett Earns NE-10 Freshman of the Week Honors

Tombstone Ariz., native earns second weekly honor

RINDGE, N.H. (October 14, 2003) – Franklin Pierce freshman Christina Collett (Tombstone, Ariz./Tombstone) was named the Northeast-10 Conference volleyball co-Freshman of the Week by the Conference office on Monday.

On the season, Collett leads the Franklin Pierce volleyball team with an average of 4.47 kills per game. This past week, she averaged 4.14 kills per game in a 1-1 week for the Ravens and had 1.86 digs per game.

Collett led the Ravens in kills in their win over Colby Sawyer College with 17 and also tallied three aces and 10 digs. She totaled 12 kills and one ace against Southern New Hampshire despite the loss.

Collett shares the Freshman of the Week honor with Jess Cegarra (Danville, N.H.) of Bryant College. Cegarra averaged 3.40 kills over 10 games, including 16 kills against American International and 10 against Pace.

Franklin Pierce (8-9, 2-7 NE-10) returns to action tonight, when it hosts Merrimack in a Northeast-10 Conference match at 7 p.m.
