Franklin Pierce Falls to Southern New Hampshire, 3-1
RINDGE, N.H. (Oct. 8, 2003) – The
Franklin Pierce University volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to
Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 Conference
volleyball action this evening at the Franklin Pierce
Fieldhouse.
Junior Briana Bates (Belmont,
N.H./Endicott College) tallied a match-high 13 kills and
five aces. Freshman Christina
Collett (Tombstone, Ariz./Tombstone) followed with 12 kills
and one ace while senior Bethany
Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) helped out with 34
assists. Sophomore Tara Vece
(Clinton Conn./Morgan School) and freshman Michelle McConnell (Elora, Ontario/Centre
Wellington) both totaled nine digs apiece despite the
loss.
Sophomore Brittany Porter (Riverton, Wyo./Riverton) led the
Penwomen with 13 kills while junior Kristin Ellis (Belmont,
N.H./Belmont) recorded 22 assists and classmate Lise Laczek
(Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) registered 15 digs.
Franklin Pierce (7-9, 2-7 NE-10) returns to the court on Friday
when it travels to Colby Sawyer for a match at 7 p.m. Southern New
Hampshire (8-6, 5-5 NE-10) next hosts Green Mountain College on
Saturday for a non-conference match at 1 p.m.
