Franklin Pierce Track and Field Shines at USM Husky Invitational

GORHAM, Maine (1/25/25) — The Franklin Pierce University track and field teams delivered strong performances at the USM Husky Invitational, hosted by Southern Maine University in Gorham, Maine. The men's team narrowly missed first place, finishing second by just one point, while the women's team secured a commendable third-place finish.

Men's Results

The men's team placed second out of 11 teams, accumulating 102 points, only one point behind Plymouth State.

In the shot put, Salvator Lando secured third place with a throw of 14.77 meters. Sproul Derolus followed in fourth with a distance of 14.03 meters, while Jay Candelario took seventh with a mark of 12.98 meters.

In the weight throw, Lando also performed well, finishing fifth with a throw of 14.23 meters.

Nathan Donahue captured first place in the long jump, leaping 6.68 meters. Teammates Zaire Rosa and Carson Thomas finished fourth and sixth, with jumps of 6.41 meters and 6.30 meters, respectively.

In the triple jump, Antonio Adams-Delgado earned third place with a distance of 12.94 meters, while Rosa took fourth with a mark of 12.44 meters.

The high jump saw strong results from Noah Delgado and Alioune Diaw, who finished second and third, both clearing a height of 1.75 meters.

In pole vault, Travis Martins claimed first place by clearing 4.00 meters. Quintin McDaniels followed with a third-place finish at 3.40 meters.

Donahue also placed fifth in the 55-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 8.31 seconds.

In the 1-mile run, Ryan Outerbridge took first place with a time of 4:23.13. He was joined by Sam Fortin in third (4:29.45), Declan Morgan in fourth (4:34.02), John Viens in sixth (4:35.25), and Angel Mendo Alonso in ninth (4:44.60).

Bunmi Fabikun finished fifth in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in 53.36 seconds.

Liam Doherty impressed in the 3000-meter run, earning second place with a time of 9:15.28.

In the 4x200-meter relay, the team of Fabikun, Gabe Guilette, BJ Hendrickson, and Ethan Pho finished fifth with a time of 1:36.76. 


Women's Results

The women's team earned 71.50 points, placing third out of 13 teams.

Emily Nhun led the way in the weight throw, finishing third with a distance of 14.24 meters. Abigail Philbin followed in fourth with a throw of 13.41 meters. Nhun also excelled in the shot put, earning second place with a mark of 10.99 meters.

In the long jump, Issys Price finished fourth with a jump of 5.01 meters, while Abigail Jacobson took seventh with a mark of 4.83 meters.

Briahna Bouchard delivered a standout performance in the triple jump, winning the event with a mark of 10.59 meters.

In the high jump, Mackenzie Luth placed third by clearing 1.51 meters. Jennifer Kulick and Lanette StJohn also competed, finishing fifth and eighth, both clearing 1.46 meters.

Elizabeth Jones claimed second place in the pole vault with a height of 2.80 meters. Teresa Deasy followed in fifth, clearing 2.50 meters.

Bouchard also performed well in the 55-meter hurdles, finishing second with a time of 8.67 seconds.

Price and Jacobson competed in the 55-meter dash, finishing fourth and eighth with times of 7.56 seconds and 7.88 seconds, respectively.

In the 800-meter run, Meghan Sheline placed third with a time of 2:34.13. Ellie McOnie-Lownsbrough followed in sixth (2:36.40), and Lauren Muldoon finished 10th (2:44.32).

Cora Knight competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing ninth with a time of 29.08 seconds.

The 4x200-meter relay team, consisting of Bouchard, Jacobson, Price, and Knight, finished fourth with a time of 1:51.70.


Up Next for the Ravens

Select members of the Franklin Pierce track and field team will compete in the BU Terrier Classic at Boston University on January 31 and February 1. The women's events will take place on Friday, while the men's events are scheduled for Saturday. Additionally, the team will participate in the Plymouth Winter Classic on Saturday, February 1.
