BOSTON (February 2, 2019) – Senior CeCe Telfer (Lebanon, N.H.) claimed a pair of New England titles on Saturday, as she won both the 60-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash at the NEICAAA Championships for the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team. Senior Lilian Baah (Danielson, Conn.) earned All-New England honors at the meet as well, for her performance in the triple jump. Elsewhere, the remainder of the Ravens were in action at Plymouth State, for the Panther Invitational, where the team took third, out of 13 teams.

Telfer opened her day by posting the fastest semifinal time in the 60-meter hurdles (8.41) and then shaved another couple ticks off to claim the New England crown with a time of 8.39 seconds in the final. The time marked the fifth time this season Telfer has hit the NCAA Championships automatic qualifying mark in the event. She would later double back to win the New England title in the 200-meter dash as well, with a time of 24.50 seconds.

Baah was the only other Raven in action at the NEICAAA Championships on Saturday, but she picked up All-New England honors of her own, and met an NCAA Championships provisional qualifying standard in the process. She put together a hop, skip and jump total of 11.64 meters to take seventh in the triple jump.

In all, Franklin Pierce picked up 22 points at the NEICAAA Championships to finish 10^th, out of 27 teams.

Meanwhile, the rest of the squad was at Plymouth State, for the Panther Invitational, where the Ravens collected 82.5 points to finish third. Franklin Pierce posted three event wins and eight top-five finishes on the day.

The wins at Plymouth State came courtesy of freshman Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) in the high jump (1.52m), sophomore Marissa Farago (Salisbury, Mass.) in the 5000 meters (19:45.44) and freshman Stephanie Phoenix (Wallingford, Conn.) in the pole vault (3.05m). Farago was followed inside the top five of the 5000 meters by sophomore Lauren Stankiewicz (Naugatuck, Conn.), who finished fourth (20:25.21).

Franklin Pierce posted one other top-five finish on the track at the Panther Invitational. Junior Rebecca Zylak (Goffstown, N.H.) turned in a time of 5:38.98 to finish second in the mile.

Elsewhere, the Ravens added three more top-five finishes in field events. In the weight throw, senior Kendra Covington (Torrington, Conn.) finished second (14.52m) and was followed by junior Savannah Drowne (Athol, Mass.) in fourth (12.84m). In the shot put, it was a fifth-place finish for junior Katey Comstock (Windsor, Vt.).

The Ravens return to the track on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8-9, when they travel to Boston University for the David Hemery Invite.
