BOSTON (January 21, 2018) – A day after winning the Panther Invitational at Plymouth State, the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team was back at it on Sunday at the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational, held at Harvard's Gordon Track.

The Ravens picked up a pair of wins on Sunday in The Hub, led by the performance of senior Emily Quinn (West Bridgewater, Mass.) in the weight throw. Her heave of 16.16 meters was good enough to meet the NEICAAA Championships qualifying standard, though she had already punched her ticket to the meet earlier in the season. Elsewhere, sophomore Katey Comstock (Windsor, Vt.) was victorious in the shot put, with a throw of 11.58 meters.

Comstock led four Ravens in the top five in the shot put. Junior Kendra Covington (Torrington, Conn.) finished third (11.04m), sophomore Jen Iozzi (Cranston, R.I.) placed fourth (10.78m) and sophomore Savannah Drowne (Athol, Mass.) took fifth (10.13m). Drowne (13.28m) and Covington (13.08m) also placed fourth and fifth in the weight throw, respectively, behind Quinn.

Elsewhere, sophomore Olivia Mabbett (Milford, N.H.) added another top-five, with a third-place finish in the high jump, by getting up and over 1.55 meters.

The Ravens return to action on Friday, Jan. 26, when they return to Boston for the John Thomas Invite, hosted by Boston University.
