Lambert Wins Twice to Lead Women's Track & Field on Second Day of Elm City Challenge
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (December 11, 2014) – Junior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) ran a 5:18.51 to win the mile and 5:48.71 to win the 3000 meter for the Franklin Pierce University women's track and field team. The Ravens placed third out of four teams on Friday in second day at the Elm City Challenge, hosted by Southern Connecticut State University, held at the Moore Field House.
Four Ravens would place in the top 10, with two in the top five, in the 200 meter dash. Sophomore Nicki Zeigler (Circleville, N.Y.) placed third with 26.71. Fourth place was freshman Nicole Galewski (Pembroke, Mass.) 27.20.
Sophomore Kendra Plant (Cumberland, R.I.) placed second in the shot put tossing it 10.87meters and placing fifth in the weight with 12.90meters. Junior Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.) placed third at 10.67meters, while placing fourth in the weight throw at 12.49meters.
