Women's Tennis Has Five Selected As All-Conference Honorees
MANSFIELD, Mass. (10/20/22) – The Northeast-10 Conference league office made the official announcement on Thursday today, naming five total members of the Franklin Pierce women's tennis team as selections for All-Conference accolades for 2022. Two of the five Raven players secured the honors for both singles and doubles side.
Graduate Ana Platisa (Belgrade, Serbia) and senior Liria Loria (La Paz, Bolivia) represented the Ravens as singles honorees, with Platisa earning first-team recognition for her performance at No.3 singles and Loria collecting second-team for the No.2 position. Both Platisa (8-1 overall) and Loria (9-2 overall) each recorded 6-1 records from their respective positions, while also joining forces as a doubles pairing this fall, additionally earning Third Team All-Conference honors as the team's top duo (6-2 overall).
Three others, including doubles duo Maria Penalver (Las Palmas, Spain) and Aynara Ferraz (Canary Islands, Spain) took home Third Team honors for women's tennis. The two served as the Ravens court two doubles pairing, and amassed a 10-3 dual record that placed the duo as high as 14th in the ITA regional doubles rankings. Junior Zoe Asterio Correa (Toronto, Ontario) was the lone Third Team All-Conference honoree for singles, going 7-3 overall with a 3-1 record from No.4 singles, earning the accolades for the second time in her career.
Women's Tennis (9-1; 8-1 NE10) buckles up for their first challenge of the Northeast-10 women's tennis postseason, as they host Le Moyne College on Friday, October 21st at 2 p.m. for the semifinal round in Rindge.
