Ravens host Assumption Tuesday

COLCHESTER, Vt. (September 27, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team was defeated on Sunday afternoon, 9-0, by Saint Michael's in Northeast-10 Conference play at Saint Michael's.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 0-8 (0-7 Northeast-10), while Saint Michael's improves to 3-5 (3-5 Northeast-10).

The Ravens collected eight games across six singles matches on Sunday afternoon. Four of those came at fifth singles, where freshman Shelli Safran (Boxborough, Mass.) hung around in the first set against Saint Michael's sophomore Amelia Weeks. Weeks ultimately took a 6-4, 6-0 victory.

In all, Saint Michael's had five players win in both singles and doubles play on Sunday, led by senior Erica Bundrick, who won at both first singles and first doubles without dropping a game. In singles play, she rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory, after teaming with junior Nicole Kellogg for an 8-0 sweep at first doubles.

The Ravens return to the court on Tuesday, Sept. 29, when they return home to host Assumption in a Northeast-10 Conference match at 2 p.m. in Rindge.
