Womens Tennis Defeated By Pace, 8-1
Deronjic earns victory in singles match

Pace.

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (March 13, 2009)
– The Franklin Pierce University women’s tennis team
opened the spring portion of its 2008-09 schedule on Friday
afternoon with an 8-1, neutral-site loss to Pace in Northeast-10
conference play.
Freshman Suzana Deronjic (Melrose,
Mass./Melrose) captured the only point of the day for the
Ravens. She defeated Pace junior Joana-Theresa Augustine
(Providence, R.I./Rhode Island CC), 6-4, 6-4.
Meanwhile, Augustine teamed with senior Natalija Subotic
(Bradenton, Fla./Edison Academic) to defeat Deronjic and freshman
Kaitlin Krolikowski (Massapequa,
N.Y./St. Anthony’s) in a doubles match, 8-1.
Pace won all three doubles matches and the other five singles
matches to come away with the 8-1 victory.
The Ravens (1-6, 1-5 NE-10) return to the court on Thursday, March
26, when they travel to Merrimack for a Northeast-10 Conference
match at 3 p.m. in North Andover, Mass. Pace (1-4, 1-4 NE-10)
returns to action on March 22 at Stonehill.
