Swimming Wraps Up Season at Fourth Day of Northeast-10 Championships
WORCESTER, Mass. (February 11, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University women's swimming team wrapped up its season on Sunday at the fourth and final day of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, hosted by Assumption College. The four-day meet is being held at the Sports & Recreation Center, on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
The Ravens had four individuals in action to close out the year on Sunday. Once again, freshman Nicole McIntosh (North Pole, Alaska) led the way, with a 17th-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly, with a time of 2:21.14. For the second straight day, McIntosh narrowly missed advancing to the evening's final, as hers was the first position which did not qualify for the 16-swimmer finals session.
A pair of Franklin Pierce swimmers took part in the 1650-yard freestyle. Freshman Emalee Frady (Anaheim, Calif.) turned in a time of 20:40.50 to finish 26th, while freshman Josephine Krysinski (Olympia, Wash.) swam a 21:06.90 to place 28th.
The other Raven in action in Worcester was freshman Mary Messina (Rindge, N.H.), who took part in the 100-yard freestyle. She put together a time of 57.36 seconds to finish 32nd.
