ANDOVER, Mass. (September 30, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University women's swimming team hit the road on Saturday afternoon, to contest the program's first-ever meet, as the Ravens visited Merrimack for a dual meet at Andover YMCA. The Ravens suffered a 188-46 defeat in their inaugural outing, but along the way, freshman Caitlin Henderson (Waterford, Conn.) posted a win in the 50-yard breaststroke.

Henderson was the lone winner of the day for the Ravens, across the dual meet's 13 events. She turned in a time of 34.58 seconds to claim first place in the 50-yard breaststroke. Freshman Danielle Ward (Colorado Springs, Colo.) turned in a top-three finish in the event as well, as she placed third (36.69).

Elsewhere, the Ravens had six other performances which were top-three finishes in their respective events. Henderson added a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, where she turned in a time of 1:15.75. Meanwhile, freshman Josephine Krysinski (Olympia, Wash.) put together a pair of third-place finishes, in the 200-yard freestyle (2:18.24) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:08.85).

Krysinski also swam the anchor leg on the 400-yard freestyle relay squad, which turned in a third-place finish. A lineup of freshman Bridget Mulvey (Staten Island, N.Y.), Ward, junior Emma Mousette (Pembroke, Mass.) and Krysinski logged a time of 4:41.44.

Franklin Pierce's remaining top-three finishes came from a pair of freshman. Maggie Miller (Northampton, Mass.) finished second in the 50-yard butterfly (30.04), while Mary Messina (Rindge, N.H.) took third in the 50-yard freestyle (27.55).

The Ravens return to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 7, when they travel to Assumption for a dual meet.
